i have had this green slimer since i started my first tank almost 7 years ago.just this past week i have noticed that some of the tips are purple.anyone know why they would turn colors.
could be the lighting i spose. i did cut back the amount of time the white lights are on.and raised them up.i have small alk swings as i dose manually morning and night, been like that for a long time so i dont think thats it.
Mine get a purple tip or two close to the surface or when protruding slightly out of the water under a radium bulb. Nowhere else that I've fund and I've lookedat several colonies in different locations under different lighting..
just tested the water, temp 76.3,ph8.2,cal.390,alk8.6,mag1400,and s.g. is at 1025.everything seems fine to me.the cal.and alk. readings are before dosing and i dose 75ml of each am and pm. i am leaning towards the light period being shortened, causing the tips to turn
