Pvc

Just wash and rinse it thoroughly -- I like to use Dawn soap (the original) -- to get any chemicals from the factory off. I wouldn't worry about the lettering, many people use PVC to help build rock structures and for all sorts of things.

PVC is fine as above its best to clean it. if you want the lettering off a little sandpaper does the trick.

yeah, just use some sandpaper to remove the lettering and give it a thorough rinse. If you didn't buy or plumb it yet, maybe you can pick up some PVC from BRS. They have a door buster deal on it, and you can get it in different colors too.

even easier than sanding is using a bit of pvc cleaner on a cloth - takes it right off. Really, it's the only useful purpose I have found to even buy the stuff.

Just be sure to get the clear, otherwise you'll turn everything purple ;)
