There is still quite a bit of algae growing in there. I didn't wanna remove it all with my potential new addetions tomorrow.

Oh, and I cleaned the outside of the glass after the pictures... go figure.

wow it looks a lot better...did u cut back light as well?...
pylon can u help me real quik and tell me how u post pics?

I cut it back to 7 hours, I may cut it back again to 6 until I get some fish and or coral in there.

Posting pictures is easy man. I use Photobucket.
Upload the pictures, when it's done it'll give you an option of something like save and get info.. something like that. Anyway, it'll give you a bunch of different formats that you can use. the last oen starts off with a Copy the whole link and paste it in your post.

For me thats the easiest way.
You can also upload the pics to where ever you want, copy the link into your post and start of the link with a [img] and end it with a

Yea, looks about right. Just let it burn itself out, and you're good to go.

DJ, glad to hear from you. It didn't die off at all man, I pulled the stuff out by the handfulls, it was growing like a weed.

U gotta give it time - it's a brand new system. U need to burn through the excess nutrient load. Harvesting the green speeds the process. Then it just crashes - almost as quickly as it comes. When that happens, it's coral time!

I'll do another test over the weekend, however everything looks great. When the Algae starts to die off (hopefully around the same time that I get some money) I'll start to add the livestock.

Killer. Start checking for flecks of coralline growth on the rocks. That's the real test to know you're good to go for corals.

Looks good. Don't know exactly what type of hermit he is, but if your hair comes back, look for a completely albino mini hermit, whether it be at your LFS, or online. I have one and the crab AND shell together are about the size of a standard small marble. He has had his butt parked on the same rock for 4 days, just chowing down on my one little clump of hair(might even be bryopsis). Hasn't moved in 4 days, and he is BLASTING that algae.

Or you can get a single turbo snail.

I'd really like to know what this albino hermit is...no leg coloring at all? Have a photo?

it's legs, claws, eyes, tenticles(guess that's what you would call them), body mass, everything stark white. Slightly smaller than the average size DWARF blue-leg.

No picture, I have a HORRIBLE point and shoot, that couldn't even give you a clear picture of the shell, let alone make the crab visible. Also, FWIW, I just pulled this algae apart about 4 days ago. Guess when i just left 1/2" tufts on the rock, he figured he could handle that, but the 3" long strands were too much.

Thanks DJ, I do see some purple spots on my rocks. I hope to get some corals in there by the ned of next month along with the first Shrimp.

I only have Red and Blue leg hermits in there.

On general note. I do have one long strand of algae on the front of my tank. I had left it there on purpose. I was gonna take it into my Bio Lab but had forgotten to. I'll most likely pull it out soon.

It finally happened...

I figured it wouldn't happen until there was fish or some bigger livestock in the tank.. but I guess she saw a hermit or something movie, her eyes have been glued to the tank ever since.
