Pylons Tank!

First, good work so far. Second, I want to second the notion that you should leave the FS alone--if opened up in the spot before it'll probably open again unless something in the system changed (SG/temp etc. up or down). I have had a FS for about 9 months now, it has grown from one head to 5 and somedays it just decides not to open. Wouldn't worry about mere closing unless it stays closed for many days.

I wasn't worried about it closing as much as why he ws closing.. Ever since I got rid of the shrimp he's been opening as much as (what I think) he can..

I"m sure the Peppermint Shrimp was eating him and just wanted to make sure before I got rid of him..

Since he's been gone I havn't seen any problems with him closing.. just at nights when my lights are off.

Can't say I have a ton of experience so this is just one data point, but I have three peppermints and my FS is fine...so it may not have been the shrimp.

Yeah, it's really hit or miss.. so I hear..I may just of had one that had a taste for it.

My FS s growing by leaps and bounds now... I"ll try to get a pic up in the next couple of days..
The purple Mushrooms I ordered were sent out to someone in California... so I don't know *** is going on with that.. I hope to get it resolved soon..

My potential order from Reefs2go.com looks like this now..

Bubble Anemone
sku: AN-BUBBLE

Blue Ricordea
sku: C-RIC-BLUE

TriColor Orange Ricordea
sku: C-RIC-TRICOLOR

Red Pistol Shrimp
sku: INV_SHR_PISTOL_RED

Blood Shrimp
sku: INV_SHR_BLOOD

I'm kinda worried about adding the two shrimp at the same time... any thoughts?

I wouldn't think there'd b a problem, seeing as they occupy different strata within the system. You have plenty of rockwork/cavework in the tank, so everyone has a place. I dunno, if I were going to add them, I'd b inclined to do them at the same time. That gives neither a home turf advantage.

I was at my LFS and i saw a feather duster growing out of some live rock, the owner said they will naturally grow in my tank after a good amount of time...
Is this the start of one? Or some type of tube worm?
I've been seeing the little white growths all over the tank.. I'm not sure what they are..

I really like your tank. I will continue to watch the progress, it is really fun to see all of the changes and additions come together. Keep up the great work. I have not even started my tank yet, but I am very excited to begin. To all of the people who have been offering advice - awesome job, I hope I can get as much help when I start. DJ your response time is fantastic.
