Last night I turned on my aquarium lights after they had been out for a couple of hours (I like to see all the pods scurrying around
) and noticed numerous (50+) tiny snails that I had never seen before. After a little research they appear to be pyramid snails. The weird thing is that I dont have any clams and I havent bought any new snails for 6+ months.
I think I only have a couple snails left and my question is that if I dont have snails or clams in my tank, will the pyramid snails starve & die off? Or will they find something else to feed on? I will start removing some manually, But I know I will never get them all. Also, what are your theories for the sudden population explosion? Id love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks
Jason
