I'm about to transplant stuff from my small reef to a larger tank, but the small is infected w/ pyramid snails...i pick out two or three off my crocea and snails everyday. can someone suggest how i might do the transplant without infecting my new tank w/ these pests?? Thanks!

i hear a six-line wrasse will eat pyramid snails. I dont know if that will actually help you with your setup, but you could get one for your small reef and see if it will help.

I bought a sixline wrasse to eat my pyramid snails and he did not touch them. I tried picking them out every nigh for about a month, but I got tired of that pretty quick. I guess I just won't get a clam.

You could try setting up a Q Tank for your clams. Keep checking them over a period of weeks until you don't find any more pyramids. Then move them over into your new tank.

A Q tnk is best, but make sure you brush your clam shells very good ensuring to cover every crevice in your clam prior to placing it in the Q tank. Hope you the best!

Yeah 6 lines are considered reef safe, there are always exceptions agenst shrimp....a yellow coris wrass is also another option.....I like the look of sixlines colorfull active swimmers....bought one to be a defender of my Clams, they also go after bristle worms as well....

If you throughly brush the shell of the clam, in every crevice and you can actually see 100% of the shell of the clam and there are no pyramid, you should be safe. It works for me!
