And finally, I managed to save several good sized chunks of my green and blue tenuis(?), just no good pics from the QT yet:

Those are some amazing pieces. I'll cross my fingers for you that there are no more losses!!

I dipped all my acros the other day in TMPCC at 3X strength again, this was the 3rd dip in about 5 or 6 weeks and its been about 3 weeks since i last dipped them. I didn't find a single AEFW. Its odd to me, since the last time i went thru this I was still finding them on the 4th and 5th dips. Perhaps i got a different type this time as i know there are several different species of these bastages. I'm going to wait another 2 weeks and do 2 more dips to be safe, then i'll put my valida back in as a test since they always have attacked that coral 1st in my tank.

How strongly/thoroughly are you blowing the worms off the coral? I found the ones I have, at least, as super tough to get loose.

About as violently as i can. I shake em dunk em baste em as hard as i can. Of course this leads to extra frags usually, i guess i get out of hand sometimes. I then let the frags dry a little. Once they have dried out a bit you can see the wet flatworm very clearly. But IME this time around they all detach in the dip.

No bites or eggs either. I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. Its been too easy. I'm guess it will be that they are still present in the display and can go 6-8 months without food or something.

LOL, good to hear. Honestly, it just doesn't seem biologically logical for simple worms like this to be able to "hibernate" and survive that long without food....

Oh, LOL, sorry.

60g QT

2 x 54W T5's ATI 12K with individual reflectors: See here

Vortech for flow

DIY recirc sedra 5000 NM skimmer (4" body, 3' tall). Fed by Mag 5, which splits to add more flow.

Heater.

Aquaclear 500 with foam block and ammonia absorbing material, and carbon.

topoff evaporation with saturated limewater.

All acros on an elevated eggcrate floor, half way up the tank.

So the whole thing cost me $300. Vortech is from my main display, and heater and skimmer are from my normal 30g QT that I alwasy have running. Seeing as two corals can easily add up to that, I figured it was worth it, rather than just dump everything and start over, as some suggested. Even with losses, it's worth it, IMO.

Here is mine, pretty simple

Yeah, mine's just a bigger version of exactly that, though I added a mechanical/chemical filter (only cost me $20 more) :)

OK, saw a few new bitemarks on a couple of the most affected species, so everyone's getting dipped again this morning!

FYI - this time around, 150mg levimasol per gallon for two hours did nothing  I knew there had to be large AEFW present, due to the new bite marks. I dipped one coral in 2X TMPCC. Sure enough, they they were. So, I added another 150mg levamisol per gallon to the water. And they began to come off. Just a dozen at most for all my corals. I'm optimistic at this point for success with the remaining corals.

I'm not sure if these were just more resistant straglers (likely judging by their large size). Or maybe the medication has lost potency? It's been stored cool and dry (but not dark...is it light sensitive?) All volumes and weights are exact.

Yeah, they were big suckers! Not surprising, judging by the size of the new bitemarks....

I took a few pics of the acros in my QT. I'll be moving them back to the display this weekend. I've now beaten these buggers twice, and i'm going to do everything i can not to get them again.

You can see most have browned out, but are now starting to regain color under this 70w 10k MH. I didn't expect that, so a pleasant suprise. I didn't lose a single acro, but my valida took it the worst. I had to frag it up, so i have 4 small frags now instead of a nice small colony :(

Hope you don't mind the hijack ;)
