queen angel not eating

i bought a queen angel from aquahut yesterday. any help with what to try to get this angel to eat would be greatly appreciated. tried brine, many flakes, pellets, dried nori, mysis isn't working. going to try a alage eaters frozen food and plankton.

Hi Ray

I bought one from Don on Sat. He is eating frozen blood worms but is very skitterish. He only started to eat today. Don got these from the Carib and they usually do okay. if you get really desperate pick up a few cherry necks and smash them with a hammer and drop to them to the bottom. I would give the fish a couple of days to settle in before I went the clam route.Is he at least picking at the rock

ya he is picking at the rocks. i don't want to go the clam route as i caught it once already pick at my gigas mantle. don't wanrt to incourage that at all. i would have to get rid of it if it keeps picking at the clams. hate to though for one its a beautiful fish. oh ya and it happens to be the girl friends favorite. lol never fails.

If he's already picking at your clams, you know enough to know that he's not going to stop that behavior.

Queens are definitely not reef safe at all especially clam mantles!

try electric shock treatments :eek1: or the time out corner as behavior modification.....

on a serious note Ray, iMO if he's picking on the rocks it just a matter of time before he feels comfortable and starts to eat prepared foods.

larry and warren you are right. i got him out of my reef. its in a qt tank now. anyone want to buy a 4-5 " queen for the 65.00 i paid?

Queen Angels just love clams! Throw him back in the reef and it will get nice and fat! Bet it goes striaght for the blue squammie. I think i should take all your clams because after all it is Simonas favorite fish!
