Question about 9002 and 9005

I have a 38g mixed tank (height 16"), I am thinking of purchasing 9002 or 9005 to replace the HOB skimmer. I need to know how far above the water line the skimmer sits. My T5 lights only have 3 - 3.5 inches of room above the water line. Will the skimmer fit? How deep can the skimmer be immersed?

Do you have any room behind the lights? The 9002 won't fit in that height clearance, the 9005 will. The 9005 needs to be submerged about 10.5" and the 9002 about 8". The 9002 would work if you had about 3.5" in the back of the light hood for the cup to clear.

Roger, thanks for the reply. I only have about 2" space in the back of the light hood. I guess I will try to raise the lights a little bit.
