Question about snails

A couple months ago I noticed a few new snails in my tank. I was surprised because the tank has been up for a few years and that was the first time I have seen this snail.

They are difficult to photograph but I'll try to get a pic later.

They look kind of like a limpet or something. Looking from the top, they are white or cream color, oval shaped, about a 1/4 inch long, 3/16 wide. From the side they look like a pyramid or a Hershey Kiss.

Now, they are all clustered on my skimmer return in a real high flow area. They appear to be eating the coraline algae.

I've read of pyramid snails infesting clams. Should I be worried?

Thanks
Ted

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Pyramidellid pretty much just eat the tissue of other molluscs. Do these snails have a coiled shell or is it flat like that of a limpet? Is there a hole in the top of these snails' shell?
