Question about splitting RBTA **PIC**

Amen, Yashua. This guy fella needs help, not a tongue lashing. Get the bubble out of there and keep an eye on it. I was at a wholesaler today and saw some of their anenomes being held in plastic colanders floating in the water. Pretty good idea if you need to temporarily isolate your livstock,I thought. Unless your lights are too hot/bright...good luck.

yashua,
NYIntensity comment was directed at the horrible post by Shewillbemine not to the original poster.

I quoted the guy what else could i have done to make sure everybody knew what we were talking about?

the main reason to takeit out of the jar is so it can move around to find where it wants to be. in my experience, everytime i have added a bubble to my tank, the go behind my rockwork for a day or two. they then come out and settle. try and keep a eye on it in case it starts to look bad. when i started this hobby i lost one in the back of my tank and didnt find it for a week. did a number on my system. but it recovered.

but you need, and i stress NEED to cover the inlet on your power heads. my bubbles only moved at night, and i had one float off in the current to find a new spot. well the spot he found was the inlet to my powerhead. i woke up to a cloudy tank with pink crap floating everywhere, and a half chewed nem in my powerhead. i could have cried. when i got him he was doing terrible at the lfs. i got him to try and help, and i got him to great health. his mouth closed up and he ate great. to one day just die. it was terrible. i now have 1in of foam all the way around the intake of my powerheads. it was a stupid mistake on my part.

so justlet him out. cover the powerheads, and watch him. the will move in to all kinds of shapes when they move around. just my two cents here. i know the stress these nems can give you, trust me. if your water and light are good, he will settle just fine.

ps sorry for spelling and no caps. i typed this ob my pda.

wow, havent checked this thread in a while. Some of you guys are really going at it haha. The comments are fine, there all just opinions and we all have different ones :) . I've been in the hobby for about 5-6 years now great success so I know what im doing, but thanks for the concerns about the anemone.

Here are a few pics for you noobs who think im a noob ;) . Couple other RBTA I've had in the last 6 years. For those who are gunna ask " well why dont you have them anymore" Well, because they got huge and I got rid of them.

Thanks for looking and have a nice day.

This thread was too funny. Anemones don't have feelings. They don't even have a brain. They barely have a nervous system at all.

I'm glad your anemone is doing well. The only comment I have about the jar is that things can go bad in a jar really fast if there is no or very little circulation. A better solution would have been a plastic collander floated at the surface or a tupperware container with holes in it. I like to burn the holes with a soldering iron rather than cutting the holes, because it rounds the edges.

I also thought it was pretty amusing :). Also, I had a netting on top of the Jar, and it was up in the rock work getting plenty of flow in and out of it. Was only intended for 1 night while I slept. I have done this before with walking anemones at the wrong time.
