question for filtersock users

When you're removing the sock from the water. Does it let a lot of the detritus that is built up in it back into the tank like filterfloss does? I'm looking for a way that removes it without releasing a ton of junk back into the water.
taking out the box that holds the floss isn't really an option. at least not one' i'm wanting to do, if filter sock will work.

Rob, I use 2 socks never had a problem with detritus being released back into the water Mark

hey there i have the filter sock which catches the first detrius from the overfloow then enters my sump where my skimmer is then the water flows over the baffle where i have a piece of foam inserted between the baffles this foam catches any smaller particles that gets through....

so when i remove the filter sock yes detrius does come off and flow throught the sump but once it goes over the baffle it hits the foam insert and gets trapped i clean the sock put it back in then take out the sponge and clean it.... that way nothing gets back into the tank

its like a two stepped process

i clean mines basically every 5-6 days

I have about 8 that I change every 2 - 3 days. I usually don't have any problems releasing stuff back into the water. Most of the gunk is stuck/absorbed into the sides of the filter.
