questions about ACJR

I am looking at Mark's site at the Aquacontroller junior and I am confused by some of the options

under "control options" there are CD4 HD, DC8, DC4 Std, and IM513 & 2 CM466

I have no idea what any of that means

I am also wondering about the aqua notes...since the JR only monitors/controls pH and temp, would the free aquanotes lite be sufficient?

dc4 hd, DC8, DC4 Std, and IM513 & 2 CM466

dc4 hd 4 outlets Heavy duty connected to aquacontroller

dc4 4 outlet standard outlet connect to acjr

dc8 8 outlets connected to acjr

IM513 & cm466 x10 controlls and 2 outlets (old style )

thanks for clearing that up Chad, I had no idea what any of it meant

if I dont have any equipment for controlling pH, would I be better off saving my money and getting a RANCO for temp control instead?

You can run aquanotes light to view and adjust tank parameters via a computer. However, if you want to view the tank stats online, away from home, you need to be running the registered version of aquanotes and a computer with IIS installed. Like XP Pro. The computer must be connected and on to access the web server. This is how I've configured mine. I also have it send me email updates twice daily with tanks stats. Pretty friggin' cool. :)

It can send you what ever you set it up to send. I have it send me pH and temp. It also shows if my pumps, heater, fan, skimmer, and any other filtration are running. Now, there could be a failure in the device that aquanotes would not pick up on but it shows the status of when it turns the device on or off.
