That's how I've always done it. When I repiped all of my galvanized steel in my house with PEX last summer I was amazed at how much the plumbers truck approach added up to. I think I returned over $200 worth of PEX fittings.

I used mostly shark bite fittings. $200 worth of shark shark bite fittings is actually a lot less fittings than I thought it would be.

Yeah those things add up fast be careful using them on pex they like to leak is there is an type of tension on them. I think they may have a bad batch recently as I am starting to see more problems with them

I call it all PEX, but everything that I got was the shark bite brand. PEX is more fun to say than shark bite.

I did all straight 10 foot lengths with elbows and couples (there was only one run that needed more than 10 feet). I used hose clamps (1/2" larger than the pipe) to hold the pipe in place before and after every elbow, couple, or tee to prevent any tension. I left everything open for about a week until I was positive that I didn't have any leakers.
