I missed it sorry. Looked back and couldn't find it so I'll look harder, glad it's doing well.

Doh, I'm going blind as well as losing hair. :eek1:

Maybe I didn't post the picture I took. DOH. I'll check and post a updated one tomorrow if I didn't.

Magnesium, 2 freshwater dips, and activated carbon 24/7 cured it :D

Zoophile and Kentanner11 thanks for the truly flattering words. I don't know that my system really falls under the "nano" category at this point but I'm glad it has inspired you.

Great question.

The wireless wave driver offers 4 modes.

Reefcrest - You set the max speed. The pump will vary from one speed to another rapidly to simulate the high-energy conditions of a natural reef crest environment.

Lagoon - You set the max speed. The pump will vary slowly from one speed to another to simulate a calmer, lagoonal reef environment.

Pulse - You can set the speed and the intervals of the pulse. You can adjust this mode to do the wave action which is how I got it.

Constant - just one constant speed which you set.

Keep in mind multiple Vortechs can be synced together wirelessly to obtain the desired effect for your system. Lots of people love doing one in reefcrest and another on lagoon for totally random flow.

Dang! Now I want one!

Phil - I love my vortech more and more everyday. I'm defininetly getting another one soon.

bdgrfrisch - Thanks! Let me know what ideas I have sparked and maybe I can help in some way. I love DIY anything.

Hey Evan,
Are you still dosing vitC and amino or did you stop that completely? I'm just curious with your results. Let me know how much you were dosing daily of both additives and what you thought of it.

PBITAWA Just Kiding. I just finished watching the video on reefcast.com of how you mixed up the papone. Did it smell as bad as it looked. I am definately going to give it a try.

If you look back a few pages, I held off of AA's due to the caulerpa issue. Now that it is fully resolved I'll be starting to dose them in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted.

Vita C has continued as recommended in the Vita C thread. My zoas are all fully opened and look way better with it. The only ill effect so far was during the recommended off cycles, I seem to have a small algae bloom. I turned my lights off for 2 straight days recently and that seems to have it under control for now.

It doesn't really smell at all. It's literally straight out of the ocean and still alive so if anything it smells like clean ocean. Keep in mind it's dead stuff that smells :D Then goes straight from being alive and fresh, to frozen until use.

Never smell a thing and it's awesome.

P.S. It may not smell, but it doesn't taste good :(

first, sweet tank, and even sweeter frag tank. really your whole setup is dialed in man. i think you have the sweetest nano out there, if you can count a 29g dt as a nano.

my question is when you cut your lights off for 2 days, did you notice any adverse affects on the corals in the tank?

Thanks man!

Nope. If you think about it in the wild there are cloudy and stormy days that reefs deal with naturally. When the lights stay off a couple days the corals don't polyp out as much during that time but then the lights come back on (just like the storm moves on) and all your animals are happy again.
