Looks Nice, I got so exicted then when i got a notification saying new email from reef central blady blah, i thought it was evan exposing his secret project :) Nice hood though.

yea, sorry im not evan, didnt mean to get you all excited...but glad you liked my hood

my idea was a bit different though, i used a 45 degree angle in the corners as opposed to just mounting it flush
 
It was nice to see someone else using it because when i upgrade from my 55 im going to be using the same hood concept and its good to see others trying it out and having success because that makes me feel alot better about doing it myself.
 
i love the idea, didnt have to waste moeny on a hinge and i dont have to hassle with a prop to keep it open. i just simply remove and set aside. i used 2 4.7" fans and went with a grille that has a filter element insert that keeps dust out. theyre 100 cfm or so fans so with two of them thats a lot of air going through the hood so this will keep as little of dust out as possible. theyre wired so they come on when the bulbs are on and theyre 120v so i dont have to mess with a 12v adapter
