I've had this fish for over a week and he's yet to eat. Things tried... Seaweed, algae, spectrum pellets, new era, kale, romaine, cucumber, mysis (large and small).... I'm probably forgetting some
Do you have Selcon or Kents garlic? I would soak some mysis in either and see if it doesn't start eating. You can also try brine shrimp, many fish love them but don't use this as the main food, but I'd rather see it eating than not.
Well there are a few other things you can try. If you have an lfs that carries black worms I would try them and the other thing is clams or muscles even oysters
Either is fine. Just make sure you get them from the seafood section, and it's not the canned variety. I usually buy a dozen fresh ones, and throw them in the freezer. From there, all you have to do is throw them in the tank, and they open automatically when they thaw...
I tried the rubberband on a rock. And in clip. I'll see about getting some live food tomm. I'm not sure this guy is gonna make it at this point. He needs food
Would love to treat with prazi but currently treating tank for ick with treatment that says not to use with other medications. Fish had a couple spots on him so he got a freshwater dip day after I got him. Tank treatment started same day. I still have about 5-10 days left of that treatment.
That is kind of a huge detail to leave out. Most fish lose their appetite when being treated, so even the best suggestions here are likely to fail.
Most fish can handle weeks (3-4) without eating. Be careful not to overload the tank with too much feeding while treating as your bio is compromised by the meds. You are kind of walking a razors edge now.. Good luck.
