I am sorry to report that I found my beautiful, GIANT male lyretail dead last night, wedged under a rock. Not sure what happened. He was over three years old in my care, and changed to male almost immediately. You can see the change here .
whats the life span normally like? i mean theres no real way to judge age unless you get a baby. did you get it as a baby? it mightve been middle age by the time it hit your tank
Definitely the worst part of the hobby for sure. Anytime I lose a fish it makes me heartsick every single time. You get attached when you see them grow up or get nursed back to health.
I know, the same thing went through my mind. I don't think we dropped a rock onto any fish, but, I can't be 100% certain The flame wrasses were constantly in the way, so I would have thought one of those would have been injured before that huge anthias...
