Radiant Wrasse- reef safe???

I have seen them in reef tanks and they are unquestionably beautiful but the tanks I've seen have NO shrimps, NO clams, and NO apparent clean up crew.

1.Has anyone had the successfully or unsuccessfully? For how long?

2. What do you attribute to the success of failure?

3. Are they shy?

4. Did it pester/kill any cohabitants?

5. Was it bothered by a cohabitant?

One of the most suited Halichoeres for a reef tank. That being said, they might find snails and/or crabs tasty, but typically are pretty well behaved. A sand bed is necessary for all Halichoeres wrasses, and a COMPLETELY covered tank is essential!

They get surprisingly large... I remember seeing a large adult in a friends tank and thinking holy crap!

i have a large one ( 6 " ) in my 210. He is awsome but loves my snails and smaller hermits as snacks. He hasnt touched my coral banded yet or cleaner shrimp

My tank is 60 x 24 x 24. The hood is custom and completely covered but I have a cross brace on the tank that I think I'll make some angled acrylic so in case the wrasse lands on it he doesn't just sit there and cook.

Do you think 150 gallons will be enough?

Dude its the smallest wrasse in the tank, and the only fish smaller than him is the helfrichi firefish. Long story short he is the first to investigate new corals, snails, rocks, plants, shadows, and most certainly food.

No shy for me at all.

I've had three, all did very well. I had one very large male who ate any shrimp and snails, and even a small fish once. They were not shy in my experience, and were normally very relaxed and peaceful tankmates to things they could not eat.
