Randy, I understand that you use Caulerpa racemosa

Dear Randy,
I understand that you use Caulerpa racemosa, and I would like to try it because my Chaeto is not growing either. However, I converted part of my sump into a fuge area (it's a Megaflow II sump by All-Glass), so there is a good chance that some of the spores, and some of the Caulpera can get into my main display (it would have to pass through 2 baffles and 2 sponge filters). It will eventually make it in (I am guessing). Would it overtake my display tank? Is it faily easier to get rid of if it does "wind it's way" in there?
Sincerely,
Ralph

It may be able to make it way to the display and that could be a knock against it. I've had small amounts in my main tank for many years and I do periodically hand remove it. It can be hard to completely eradicate. In my case, I think it got there when I actually put it and Chaeto there for tangs to eat while I was on vacation, but getting to the main tank is a concern, especially if you do not have fish that would keep it in check.
