Rare Anemone at Ki's

Please show me at least one statement made by the seller or anyone who has seen the actual animal (not a pic) that states it is not a bta.
In another thread, after someone posted the link to the auction, a few reefers identified it as a BTA or RBTA, and apparently BullDog objected. Perhapse that is not what he meant.

So, I guess I'll answer your question with a question for PitBull: What did you mean when you posted this: The nerve of you not knowing what you are talking about. Where are you located and what do you do in the business?. From this thread.

One other question, PitBull: When did you sell the 2 BTAs for $1500 each?

And, by the way, many people have posted orange BTA pics that are much brighter than the pics in the auction. At this point, we all agree it's just an orange BTA, but maby looks real orange in person, right? And, orange BTAs are referred to as RBTAs, just like the pinks. So, he's selling an extra pretty RBTA?

By the way, the auction description has been revised twice. Unless someone has a screenshot of the original auction, it will be tough to talk about what it said.

And, by the way: He said something to the effect that "if you think it's overpriced, you don't know what it's worth." but if they are rare, and it's a once in a lifetime find, then how COULD anyone have seen one, and know what it's worth? Especially with a crappy pic?

.....Oh boy,we are going to talk lawyer talk.I just love doing it.Let's try not to get this thread axed tonight, please people. This could be so much fun.And remember. The sun rises in the east and takes just a little bit longer to Colorado,Which by the way,I love that State. It is very beutiful:D

The nerve of you not knowing what you are talking about. Where are you located and what do you do in the business?.

If you look at the post it appears he is making the comment, I would assume out of anger, towards an RC Team member that called him a joke. But I am not sure I understand how this will answer any of my questions.

And who is Bulldog? :D

It has been stated by the seller and others that it is not an rbta

Yes, you are correct. As I stated in my last post, the seller said it was not an rbta. Question, I have seen at least 6 different colored bta, so how many different classifications of bta are there?

Jimbo has stated there are morph differences between rbta and gbta but has yet to clarify these differences, and since I own both I would like to be able to study his findings further. Any ideas?

And, by the way, many people have posted orange BTA pics that are much brighter than the pics in the auction.

Where are those people now?

I knew I wouldn't get answers to all of my questions but I at least thought I would get one answered.

Probably going to buy the E-Bay "Rare Coral"

Probably going to buy the E-Bay "Rare Coral"

After all the talk and taking everything into consideration, I plan on bidding the full amount on this coral.

Assuming, that they will take a check on an un-named bank, without any account number and no information as to what country funds this "Rare" check is written for.:wavehand:

Went to ki's and took some pics (just had to see it for myself). Better than the ones on ebay. Colors are pretty true. I wouldn't pay $1200 for it, but hey beauty is in the eyes of the beholder (just like that ebay commercial "honey, you'll never sell that lime green hatchback" ). I thought that everyone who hadn't seen it would like some better pics.

This is another one that was right next to the first- I thought it had a better Green and Rose combination, but I don't think it was from the original seller.

Stopped by Ki's toady also and saw "the" anenome. Pretty cool looking.. I sure wouldn't spend a third af what I've spent on my tank so far but it deffinately was neat. I also suppose it was worth the trip down from Wyoming to take a look.

May have been me, actually. I guess all the `signs' pointed to a BTA [RBTA, OrangeBTA ... what you will].

I can take `I don't know what species this is' ... but saying `I don't know what species this is, but it's ultra-rare' is an oxymoron to me. Either you know what it is and then can confirm it's rare ... or you don't and just want to claim it.

Sell it for whatever you want, to me it's all about the presentation [which did get changed once or twice, removing some of what I objected to most]. You could charge a quarter or a million dollars ... I don't care. But if you're claiming this as an ultra-rare species that's one thing ... if it's an unusual morph that's another.

That's my take. I guess I wasn't supposed to say what I thought and thus got criticized for it. I do try to take being on TeamRC seriously ... but I thought speaking my mind and the truth as I see it is acceptable here and possibly helpful to others.

Looks like a great anemone. It is nice colored, I'm also aware from my SPS though that color is not a guarantee. Different conditions/lights color things differently.

But I've not seen it demonstrated that it's anything other than a E. quadricolor. Good luck with it.

Anyway - I'm not here to debate this on and on. Happy to listen and discuss ... just felt like my comments were being analyzed [or indirectly] and I should state my point.

...Yeah,the pics work. The pitch on the anemone doesn't.I sure as hell don't see what the people that have seen it with there own eyes see in it.How does that saying go....a rose is a rose is a rose............ I already have 6 grand in this truck,do you see it?and when I finish, I will probly have 30 grand in it,and it will be one of a kind, not rare, and .....still a 1950.It will be worth only what someone wants to pay for it,but to me,it will be worth a lot more, because I will have done the work myself. So revelence is only relevent, when it is relevent.

Thanks for sharing the truck pix. I think that is exactly what this thread needed... :wildone:

When I saw THE ANEMONE I thought if I got to name it, I'd call it the Cheetos anemone. The tentacles look like cheesy little Cheetos waving in the current.

(Very cool, but I'm sure not to the point of spending anything like that on anything capable of croaking. )

Toe nails and now and old truck. OMG too entertaining. Mickey no I don't see it but I am sure it is worth every penny to you.

Cheetos. :)

I see it Mickey! Of coarse I can't let a fine piece of American Heritage such as that, get posted without putting another in. since I'm not a mechanic, there's close to $9000 in this one, (1965 GMC factory original 4x4 Fleetside),If I had $1200 for an Anenome, it would surely go into this!
