Rarities underwater

Just noticed those stick like appendages on the bottom near the pelvic fins... What purpose do they serve? I've never seen them on other dragonets....

Haha, we had the same idea, here is my version of the sand diver:

And these are very pretty, but I doubt anyone keep them in aquaria:

OK Luis, I didn't want to play this card but I am really running low on Caribbean/Curacao stuff. I'm putting on the 105mm and going to work on some shots !
This fish you don't see that often because it is so cryptic. But I was very happy to capture the flair....Dactylopterus volitans, Flying Gurnard.

followed one of these around for about 3 hours straight while I was in the Caribbean simply fascinating to watch swim all over.

I've seen red scooter blennies for sale. Not sure if these are the same ones or not. May need to contact LA and ask how frequently they are available

I dont think that's a scooter blenny. Scooter blennys have a differnt pattern on thier dorsal fin. The stripes are horizontal and have circles on them.... I believe this is a Moyer's Dragonet. No red scooter i've seen has such a bright red to them and if they did, i'd snatch one up in a heatbeat. :)
