Just curious why would he think a fish is a fly? Did it jump out of the water at him?
Whatever the case, it sure was one bad@$$ juvenile kingi, found in shallow water and jumping out at passerby's ! :lol:

This is a juvenile Halichoeres garnoti. They turn into pretty nasty adults. The coloration changes with age.

i've always liked the gorgonian themed reefs of the atlantic. the lack of cirrhilabrus but many halichoeres and thalassoma is refreshing.
so unlike the packed, crowded and noisy reefs of the indo pacific.
Oh those photos make me miss the Caribbean, I haven't been diving there for at least 5 years. Going to the Bahamas next March, so I should bring some photos back!
