RC Pet Peeve

Easter weekend. 3 toilets in one house with 29 in-laws AND only one (1) plunger

Looks like next year you should rent out a portable toilet!

Nice thread folks. It seems that it's nice to get things off your chest in an appropriate mature manner.

My pet peev...multiple multiple threads. Keep everything you can in one thread. Especially if it's all about one tank. I might have slipped in the beginning but I have learned the easier ways of forum etiquette.

How about the person who goes on and on with a complicated answer to a complicated question and they have 3 posts , a 10 gallon tank and have been in the hobby for a couple of months.

people who's only goal is to achieve a higher post count!!

seeing a person with over 1000 posts ask a question about cycling there tank or some obvious begginer question!! i mean come on! Really?? what have you been posting about all this time??

prompting some research isn't necessarily a bad thing IME

prompting some research isn't necessarily a bad thing IME

I've seen people that are too lazy to get up off their butt and go find something out for themselves... or for others..... or in order for others to help them answer their own question! Some folks refuse to let you help them solve their problem :lolspin:

a classic example

Right behind the ancient bumped sale threads... my biggest gripe is that I didn't get kidnapped from RDO sooner. Coulda saved some $ had that been the case. ;)

It was actually cknowlto. I had signed up on RC, only saw the main boards and went back to RDO. Didn't realize at the time that URS had a forum. :)

cknowlto?

cknowlto?

wow.... I haven't heard his name in years!

This brings up a good point: we all have our pet peeves but THANK GOODNESS for Reef Central and this forum here on RC.
The folks running this place (not me!) deserve a lot of credit IMO.

Yep...all kidding aside, this wealth of info and the friends made has certainly made up for these minor annoyances.

My biggest pet peeve is when people use sophisticated wording to discuss a topic when in reality they know little/nothing about it. LED discussions are always a great example of this.

My second biggest pet peeve is when people quote a post with 10,000 pictures only to leave a one line response. Really? lol

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. I'm ready for summertime! :)

A public forum is a place for discussion. A great place to ask questions, and get answers. When people JUST say "do a search" intelligence is brought into question. I sure as heck don't think the same words would be said if the conversation was in person.

What you have provided a link for imo is not an example of what I am talking about. You gave the guy sound advice, and pointed him in the right direction. Instead of simply saying only "do a search."

When someone post that their significant other totally supports their hobby. Don't tease the rest of us!
