rc sloow?

First of all, I don't see any deleted complaint threads. Locked yes, they get pretty redundent after awhile, people don't read what's even posted, they just want to have their say.

And second, if anyone said it was never going to be fixed, think sarcasm IMO.

It's a big fix is my understanding and there's a lot involved.

The guys in charge have real lives and jobs, so it's not something they can spend 24/7 on.

It's not a picnic for us either, so please try and wait it out with us.

Debbi,

Thanks for the post. I'm staying right here on RC. Hope it is fixed soon.

I was coming to the thread to talk about this, but it seems to be working well for me this morning. Maybe it's fixed.

As previously mentioned, its a database/user/server issue. They most likely just need to do some updating. A dedicated server for the database and a separate box for the web server. Faster servers. Update software of server/php/vbulletin/mysql/etc. All of this is time and money though, so hang in their while they work on it.

I've actually noted faster navigation from page to page in the last few days.

However posting is still hit or miss.

It's growing pains, boys and girls, plain and simple. I'm not able to give you specifics, but there is a plan in place and one day soon, you'll log in here to find the site flying. Like Debi said, everyone has real life to deal with while dealing with RC.
A little patience goes a long way, and there's a pleasant surprise on the horizon.

It's ridiculously slow lately.. Noticed it ever since I've been "active" again (couple weeks). Generally I click a link and then browse another saltwater forum for a while, waiting for it to pop up..

I do all my browsing on the other forum, but stick around here for URS only.. It's too aggravating to really stick around for all queries and browsing needs right now...

Look, I see it! ;)

Almost tossed my iPad! It's a pain but wastes a few minutes at work and I haven't found a forum comparable to this one as far as quality of people. Ill stick to it.

Is a freight train coming your way. :)

I appreciate the feedback from mods but RC is virtually unusable now. A forum this size, with this membership and sponsorship level should be more proactive with updates IMO.

slooow....

GOOD, cause now it's flying in Quick Sand!

I must be old. I'm so glad that this forum exists. No matter how long it takes to pull up a page it is way quicker than going to the library and taking out a book. Then finding the information you need isn't even in the book. Sometime it's easy to take this Internet thing for granted. It wasn't that long ago when this technology wasn't even available. Not to suck up, but I'm just glad this FREE resource is available. Because without this resource, I probably would have packed up and quit by now.

Over the years, RC has gone through these slow phases. Usually during an update.

No need to panic. It will be back to normal soon.

This could be part of the problem.

Lets just trust in them and let them worry about it instead of trying to troubleshoot for them. They said they have something in the works...I say we be patient as was suggested to us.

Well the tech guys have a handle on what is the problem, even have a plan. They're working on it.
