re tunze 6060

I'm using a 6060 for a 70g tank with shallow sand bed and mostly leather corals.

Saw a thread where Roger didn't recommend any tunze streams for a 65g (basically the same dimensions as my 70).

Don't see the detriment to using a 6060 in a 3ft long tank. It's not blowing sand all over the place and the stream is not directed at any of the leathers.

Also the stream makes a humming noise. Is this normal?

The noise tends to go away in a couple weeks, if it is loud a part may be misfitted. I had thought a 70 was a 4ft tank. It may work but I am always cautious- had my head ripped off a few times so I tend to be cautious in what I recommend and if I am not sure I just say no.
