I have a couple of zoa frags that seem to be "reaching" for light. I have 2x400 14k MH on the tank and some of the frags are mid to upper level of the tank. Any ideas why they would be doing this?
TIA
Slowly raise them up more. A couple of inches up at a time. Give them a couple of weeks to get acclimatized to that, if they reach more move them up more. I have friend who have colonies 5" under 400mh's.
I have a question that may be dumb but i have to ask. Once the polyps start to recieve enough light, will they "shrink" back down or do they stay stretched forever?
Ya know.... sounds like you have more than enough light for your zoa's. In my tank some zoa's just have long stems, no matter how much light you give them. Its just the way some are. You can try moving them up but I bet it wont make much diff in the way they are shaped. This was discussed on another forum and several people indicated the same.
