I been In hobby for last 7 years and have kept several bubble tips over the years ...my current tank is 72x33x27 lightly stocked with anthias wrasses and couple clowns and couple tangs ....
Few Sps Lps and softies rock work is mainly on right side of the tank and got an open area on left side giving my fishes open water to swim ...I just purchased a lrg haddoni last night which I might receive it next week ....
Need acclimation tips please how to deal with this big animal
I am running 3x400 watts of halides( old school ) and have roughly about 4" deep sand bed
Tank is been running since last April ...

I would just fast drip it in. I assume that you get via overnight shipping, or is it local?

Get some egg crate screen so you can box it in where you want it until it dig in.

Hi,
Here is how I've done mine. I take a 5 gal bucket and place a 1 1/2 gal bowl inside that bucket. Then I gently pour the nem into this bowl with about 1 gallon of the water from the bag. Then like Minh says, I quick drip it, till it over flows from the bowl into the bucket. Then I empty 1/2 the water out of the bowl into the bucket, then let it fill the bowl up again. Then I empty most of the water out of the bowl into the bucket.

Then I take the bowl with the nem in it, turn of all my pumps, and gently lower the bowl into the tank and pour the nem into the spot I have prepared for it. This way I never have to touch the nem, They are quite sticky and can be hard and for some people, painful to get of your hand.

Good luck with your new nem:)

This sounds like a great approach. I've been stung too many times from my gig and have scars to prove it. When handling the haddoni, I suggest that you wear rubber gloves ( or when handling any large nem for that matter).

I have a small bucket that I place in my 5 gal bucket. I also have an air line with a valve and a hard air tube that bend to a hook. I fast drip anemone in this contraption. Just empty the larger bucket that get over flow from the small one. after 15-20 mins, when essentially all the water in the small bucket is tank water, then I just lower the whole bucket into the tank and empty the anemone out where I want it. Often I put a small LR in the small bucket and often get luck out and the anemone attach to the rock.

Often I use egg crate to block the anemone in the general region where I wanted it. Use zip tie to keep the structure together plus rock from the tank. Once he attach, I remove the whole contraption. I don't touch the anemone either, especially Haddoni and Gigantea.

Scars!!! :eek1: Are you allergic or am I just resistant? I know a friend of mine in TN used to get blisters from anemone stings...

I think they're like bee stings -- the reaction varies from person to person. I've also noticed that my gig fires its nematocysts at different rates -- sometimes I can brush up against it and I'm fine, other times I get a rash on the back of my arm, above where the glove stops. For me, it's usually like a group of mosquito bites in the same general area. I end up scratching it because it itches, which leads to scarring.

There are a few very nice bright color anemone in the background. May I ask where you got him from? Very nice rainbow color anemone but I like to try for some that show with the red anemone.

Looks like the mouth is closing up. Beautiful haddoni. Where on their site do the list anemones? I could not find any.

I fed the carpet this morning and it wasn't very sticky 1st time I placed the silverside on him and It got flew away ...I placed it again and eventually he ate it ...
Mouth is still open but a little less since I fed him ..
Although I am sure tank conditions seems very ideal for him ...light is enough also and his foot seems planted pretty solid aswell ...I wish I could take the pic the amount of sand he shifted to get his foot planted .....
