Just wanted to know your opinion on my choise. I have a 80" x 20" x 20" tank. Which stream pumps should i choose for it? I dont need very high current and my budget isnt too big. So some nice compromize would be great. Im thinking about getting 2 units. Please help me make my selection.

Sea Hermit, since you have a 6' tank, I would recommend the Stream 6100s. I use these on a 7' tank and they worked great:thumbsup:

I would second George's recommendation. The 6100's are not the most economical way out but they will give you control over flow. The 6080 cannot be used on any wavemaker device. It would be feasible to use 2 6080's and have a SeaSwirl or SQWD on your return system to help randomize the flow but this will likely not result in any savings. The greatest advantage and performance would be from the 6100's.

Thank you for the fast response. What I was thinking was getting a

TUNZE Turbelle stream 6100 and
TUNZE Turbelle stream 6060

those are propably the most inexpensive ones and I realize the 6060 isn't controllable but those would only cost a half of the recomended set. Would the flow be ok with only one pump connected to a single controller (6100 set) and the other one just keeping a constant flow?

It should work- you might try just 1 TS12- new product designation for 6110 which is a 6100 and 7091 Single Controller. If you feel you need more you can add it later.

uuh, im going nuts on this. Just cant decide... Now im checking the possibility to buy 1 multiconroller and 1 controllable pump and 1 non controllable. This way I would get the optical sensor for free and would be able to upgrade later if i feel that another controllable pump is needed. Btw can I use pumps with different flow rates on the same controller?

If they are controllable yes- 6100 and 6000 are controllable. As are 7200,7300, 7400. I would try just one- their is no reason to go nuts.

I third the above recommendations for a 6100. I now have experience with both the 6100 and the 6000 and for your tank go with the bigger pump. In the scheme of things they are all expensive investments so spend the little extra so you don't regret not getting all the power.

Thank you all!

Today I ordered 2 Stream 6100 pumps with multicontroller and an Osmolator. Just wanted to be sure my pumps dont need an upgrade when upgrading my tank in the future. Maybe I'll buy 2 more of them when getting started with my planned 500g tank.

Looking forward to seeing the pumps in action...
