I have a new predrilled 55g I'm setting up. It has a 1200gph return pump on it (actually about 800gph with loss of head). I'm looking to put some nice powerheads in it, but am lost as to what's new out there. I've used Seio's, Maxijets, and even a SCWD before on previous tanks. I like the Turbelle Stream 6000's and the Nanostream 6045's and 55's. I'd like to be able to control the pumps but don't know if two of the 6000's would be too much for the tank. Still not sure what I plan to put in this tank. Thanks for your suggestions.

From my experience I would consider 1 6000 if looking at the bigger models, I ran a pair of them on my 120 and loved them. Though with the 6055's coming soon and the tank being a 55 I would most likely look at a pair of them. I know I plan to replace the 6025 and 6045 in my tank with them this summer hopefully as I miss the random currents and would like a bit more flow in my 58.

I have a 58 gallon and had purchased a 6025 and a 6045. Both of them running, it seems like too much flow. I usually alternate now, one day the 6025 and the other I'll run the 6045.

I should have mentioned I am keeping mostly SPS... if I had alof of free flowing softies or long tentacled LPS it might be just right or too much

I think in a 55 you would be very happy with one or two 6055's depending on the intended inhabitants and amount of rock.

Roger: Do you think the two 6055's will be enough if I decide to do all SPS? I want to make sure I'm not purchasing something that won't grow with my future setup or even a larger tank. Obviously the 7095 Controller would grow.

Yes, I just got a final production version and the flow is quite impressive. Much better than the Beta model I had from September.
