Red Based Yellow Tip Mag Just Split!

Title says it all. Just checked my webcam (link below) and it looks like my beautiful red-based mag has split! Didn't see that coming at all. I've had it for about 1.5 years and it has been growing but I saw no sign of split. First mag split for me. Super pumped!

Hahaha thanks guys. Split was very quick. The tank is at my parents' house but I check in pretty much everyday with the dropcam. No signs of splitting as far as I can tell from the cam yesterday. Checked today and it was done. I have recording on the camera so I can look back and see how it happened.

So I reviewed the tape and here's what I found:

Very interesting. Only time a mag split under my care was many years ago, and I seem to recall it taking at least a few days. My last one got huge but refused to split. Go figure.

Congrats on the split.How big was it before it split.I have had mine for over three years and no split.It is approximately 15" across.

He was pretty large before the split. Probably just about 15 inches.
