Red beards 675 DT, total volume is well over 1200 gallons

Thank you for the descriptions, regarding the second fuge with sponges and rocks. Is the plan to use this as filtration or is the plan to grow sponges as food for the fish?

i like the look of sponges and i want to have a sponge garden. The added benefit of filtration.

Guess its time to update.

Finally got around to cleaning out my sump.
Drained it out and vacuumed it up.
Took roughly 12 hours.
All started about july last year when i decided i didn't have to wash out old sand.
Made my water blackish for a day. The fish where fine.
All my rocks in my sump start getting a brown fuzz on them and i kept getting odd cyano out breaks in my sump.
I also had a nice 1/2 inch layer of just detritus in the bottom of the sump and any time i moved anything in there the whole system would be cloudy for a day or two.
So after i cleaned it all out and did a big 500 Gallon water change the tank is looking awesome.

Ill get picture up soon.

After a year of searching for a skimmer. I think i finally found one i like.
