red bushy/brushy macro taking over!

I noticed a couple months ago a nice looking clump of dark reddish brown brushy looking macro growing on one of my fiji rocks. I let it grow because it looked nice, well maybe 2 weeks ago I pulled a good portion of it out and now I'm seeing new 'sprouts' popping up all over the place! It anchors to just about anything including several hermit crabs. I can get a picture later (wife is out w/ the camera right now). I'm really worried this stuff is going to take over the tank.

I know it's asking a lot w/o a pic but does anyone know what it might be and how I can control it? I will update with a picture later for sure...

I think I found a pic on this thread, same thing he was having probs with... I may have to try the turbo snail solution.
