Red carpet Help

Hi

i ordered a red carpet....... long story short, i noticed it is injured at several places around the rims badly. i let it in the tank and sometime later i tried to shippon out the injured tissue. during the process, i saw the foot is also torn! and it is a big hole.

the carpet is about 7-8 inches. he is in the same rock and same spot for 2 days now. part of the foot that is injured is not attched to the rock, of course it is injured right?

so, because it is injured, it can't dig the sand so it attached to rock. It is a haddoni, and i know that 99.99% sure.

anyway, here is the question. i know LTA with injured foot NEVER make it. how about haddoni carpet? with injuried to the foot, will it stand a chance?

i love this animal and all i can do is pray for him!

here are pics of injuried to the rim, but i dont have pic of the torn foot as it is almost impossible to take a pic.

Yeah, and it'll nuke your tank when it dies. No saving that thing. Sorry, it looks like it was once very pretty though.

it was ordered online, froma reputable dealer. Let's stay on main point of discussion, have anyone expereince an injured "foot" carpet that survived?

This is my point! You never Know what you will get from a order! The thing is doomed if you assk me! It should have it foot in sand and by not doing that asap i think it will only have a sm chance of making it! As far as the damage around the rim that will likly heal! Here is a pic of mine! Good luck!

Man thats sad! I'd say go for the refund if you can before its to late!

Sorry! Good luck with it healing! Looked gorgeous though.

sorry to see this, this looks pretty bad. I know its no much help, ill just echo what Shootcat said, try to contact dealer asap with these pictures to show him in what shape you received your order to see if you can get some way of refund. This rotting part on its disk is serious thing and imo its unlikely to recover.. It is obvious that they packed injured animal and in shipping bag its wound picked some sort of heavy bacterial infection so it start to deacy..

it's been discarded. i hope the dealer would credit me, i am working with them. thank you all for sharing your thoughts and opinions.

yes,, they don't come cheap. I importing mine directly and if it go wrong... just another of my wise investments

I have had haddonis with much more severe injuries than this come back and look perfect within 6 months. I hope when you say "discarded" that it actually died and you didn't just toss a living creature.

one morning before i go to work, i see it does not look good at all, and i have seen crashing anemones "many many" times in my reefing time, i know this one is on it's way out. only thing is i am on my way to go to work, and a quick decision have to be made. Take a risk and see if it will live, i can remove it when i come home from work at night. this of course, if it crash while i am at work, the WHOLE tank is at risk. I am not about to risk my whole system that i have had so much hard work and so much money puttiing into it. i would rather lose $500 and a rare animal that "might" survive, than to lose my whole system.

Injury, like chewup by PH or rock drop on it, then recover is one thing, but infection that is getting worst is another.
