So the Mag need treatment?
What about the Gig? Sold?
Yes, I agree that the blue gig may or may not need treatment. It looked good when I was there yesterday--really nice baby blue column too. It wasn't expelling anything and the tentacles had good extension. It's a big one -- probably 16"+ when fully inflated and happy.
The mag had some tentacles that were deflated and the mouth was open, exposing the siphonoglyphs. But my experience with treating mags with Cipro is 100% success, while for gigs the % is much lower. If I was in the market for a mag, I would buy it and treat it and wouldn't be too concerned.
I would rather buy an untreated mag than a treated one. I've bought a couple mags from liveaquaria lately that were completely unresponsive to treatment. The ones I got from Petco about a year ago were much more receptive.
That is the same reason why I so far avoided re-treating my first purple gig. It deflated a bit a few times but does not otherwise decline. I'm not even sure it is actually sick, maybe it is just unhappy or readjusting to the new location. If I treat it again the outcome is highly uncertain and I may just kill it.
I just pick him up 1 hr ago. I was only able to bring him home and dump him into my hospital tank, turn down the flow a little and run right back to work. Picture 5 mins after he got into my hospital tank. Very nice color if I have to say so myself. I am happy.
The other anemone is the anemone Vincent send me. Hotly debated as to the species in another thread.
