Red Dragon/Flowstar VS Water Blaster?

Anyone have any experience with BOTH of these pumps?

I was wondering how quiet the Water Blaster was in comparison to the Askoll based pumps.

Also anyone try the MSX versions?

I have have the flowstar 1800 .I don't really think the red dragon is any different(better) same motor.It is quiet.

u can find a lot of unhappy people about the red dragon pump (parts issues)

I have the Flowstar 1500 for my return pump and a Water Blaster 2000 for my chiller pump.I really like the Flowstar,the Water Blaster just looks cheaper,but is very quiet(but it is only a 528 gph pump),I am very happy with both

THE MAIN thing you people are forgetting is the water blaster pump COME WITH A 3 YR WARRANTY....end of story.

water blaster pumps come with a 3 yr warranty and red dragon come with a 2 yr....

I have had the flow star and the water blaster. The flowstar is a quieter pump. Both work well. But the flow star is even more quiet than the water blaster. great pumps

I am too lazy to re-research the pumps. But when I purchased my Water Blaster, it was the most efficient of the above pumps. That was a year ago and I would not be surprised if t has changed

Not sure about return pumps but definately sounds like you have never actually tested a Red Dragon skimmer pump! They are over double wattage what they state in their specs. Not sure how they can get away with it but they do.

my water blaster worked great but the screws started rusting after six months of use

I run the red dragon 8.1, never had a issue, way overpriced and I dont think they make it anymore, so if something happend to it, i think i am SOL.

never used flowstar from ATB, but i have a atb skimmer and i have nothing but good things to say about the skimmer

Laguna Max Flo 1500 is the pump that the Red Dragon and FlowStar are made from. They will all have similar flow and power use. The Max Flo can be had for under $150.
