red gig

i was there today and I took a closer look @ it and I don't see any purple veracue. I think he is running a kessil led and his DT wasn't that bright for me to confirm.

that doesnt reallly make sence to me...cause he clearly took a pic with a flash....that shows the verracue...did you ask him to show you the underside? or did u just try catching glimpses as it moved around in the water

Sorry, Ken and Kelvin were talking about a reported red gig here in SoCal.

After reading this thread the past little bit, I'm really looking forward to these new photos. Hopefully we can nail this one down! :)

I think we all know why there isn't any pics.

I don't see what other picture you expected but here is the last picture and post by JasonE (Owner of the LFS with this anemone (not for sale)). I think you got Jason wrong there. Here is what he wrote on his last post on this subject:

It's an interesting anemone- it came in four years ago from the Philippines, listed as a ricordia (!). It was about 3 inches across. It has maxed out now at 8 inches across and hasn't really grown in the past year. I'm pretty sure it's not a true haddoni (obviously seen plenty of those), but am also not convinced it is a gigantea. It's tentacles do vibrate occasionaly but nothing like the other gig in the same tank.

My green Carpet looks about the same as this red one (obviously not the color) but the shape, the tentacle and the column. I am sure that mine is not a Haddoni but also not at all like a typical gigantea either.

I don't see how you can get a better picture for ID purpose. I am sur esome of us can get a better looking picture of this interesting anemone. For ID, that picture clearly have everything needed. If we all choose not to believe in Liger or Tion, then there is nothing that anemone or Jason can do about it.

Actually my apologies for a couple reasons. I wrote that fast as I had to head into work and was going to delete it because I didn't like the tone of the message. And if I had remembered seeing that photo I would not have said a thing because it provides all the info needed. I for one believe in the "liger". I am much better at knowing gig id than I was when I first read this thread. So my apologies Jason
Paul
