I saw several haddonis today, they are the most common in the stores around here.
This one is way overpriced.

Yes I have seen them sell for $799. Crazy expensive but people pay those prices on a regular basis.

Yeah, like the "bonded pair" of skunk cleaner shrimps DD sold for about $80.
As long as there are enough uneducated suckers out there they have good business.

A red hadonni is not very common, this is very typical of the going price, not that I would pay that much for one or even want one for that matter but it's not at all surprising.
I highly doubt you will see one just sitting in any LFS tank.
They are very pretty, just a match for the clowns I keep, or the budget I prefer to keep.

I can name at least two stores in Orange County sitting on red Haddonis at $500 for over a month. Lol. But they are very nice looking anemones.

Seaside in huntington beach has a large red haddoni for a few weeks already.

A store here had this red haddoni in their display and to my knowledge they were asking 400 to 500 for it. They sold it within a month.

Yeah we are one of the lucky ones to have so many high end lfs here in CA, and it seems OC has the best stores, but they are not that common elsewhere and they are expensive when you do see them, not a lot of LFS want to sit on such an expensive and sensitive animal.
Obviously if they were that common they would not command such a price.

We see them frequently in the Toronto area too for $500-600. I know of a couple that sat for many long months one of which I believe is still there. Besides the fact it is expensive, the fact that you can pretty much always get them is likely a detractor in them selling. They may be rare in the wild but in the trade at least here you can get one quite easily as long as you will pay.

I'm not sure how you can say they are rare in the wild but not in the trade?
You know they are wild caught, no one is breeding these or anything.

There may be periods where the region they are collected from has weather and conditions that allow for easier collection and we may see more around during this time, but there is a reason they are priced as they are and people will post them here as a heads up.
It's not like a crispa or LTA that you are going to see them at every petco or something.
