Red Sea Fish

I'm interested in Red Sea endemic fish and was wondering why nobody has collected any Cirrhilabrus blatteus. Also are there any Pseudanthias taeniatus one the market.

I Understand that it is a dangerous and/r volatile area right now but it seems to me that the wrasse would command a pretty decent premium for enthusiasts.

From what i have heard the wrasses come from great depths (200+ feet) which make it difficult to catch and would require experienced divers. The majority of the fish collected out of the Red Sea are shallower water fish.

its like 120-200 but yes, thats a little different, not super dangerous or as technical as alot of other fish, but those other fish are mostly Pacific fish with less far less chance of piracy.

I know i know, just saying there is alot of money to be made, and If I had a boat in Israel I would be looking into it. Anything about the anthias?

It is a fish that you can see at around 40m deep and it is not rare.

The Yemen guys are collecting only the "usual suspects" they dont care about any other fish.

The Saudis ,when they were collecting , had real nice stock lists, I guess that if the Saudis were still collecting now, they'd get a diver to go after these, as they had real nice variety on their stock lists always.

Now there are some new collection areas, from what I saw still basic.
