Brent Thanks for the reminder on how to get rid of cyano. I'm having an attack right now. I think it's due to a few things - 1)putting too much new rock up in front not long ago, and disrupting the flow over the substrate. 2) After my last power outage I somehow messed up the timing on my lights and found 2 nights ago that I was running 10 - 11 hours of metal halide instead of the 7 hours I had been running. 3) I think I've been overfeeding by putting in too much flake food at one time to ensure everbody eats. Tonight I added a fighting conch, and a couple trochus & 2 small nerites. I'm hoping the conch will help keep the substrate turned over. By the time I added the rest of the snails the conch (about 1" long) was nowhere to be seen so I assume it immediately dug in. This weekend I'll move, or remove, some of that rock on the front bottom & open up my substrate once again to some flow. I was concerned my RO/DI filters needed replacing, and I tested my TDS on my RO/DI last night and it's still zero. So it has to be related to flow, excess food, and too many hours of light.
