He did an excellent job of irradicating my tank of hair algae and subsequently nearly all algae. I was getting worried as he is getting quite skinny now and will not take any prepared foods, including sea weed and formula 2. I recently got him to eat mysis. My question is, with him being a herbivore naturally, will he be healthy eating mysis? He still picks at the glass and rocks for algae though there is very little.

Just feed him some algae flake food and if he does'nt eat that buy some nori or dried sea weed sheets and put a piece on a clip or rubberband it to a small rock and place that in the tank, It will eat it don't worry

I have tried nori and algae flake food already.

You might wanna see if your LFS has this stuff called 'Live Sheet Algae.' My fish go crazy for it. I wish I had more info then that, but it's like a live version of nori, probably smells yummy to the fish. Hopefully someone else knows? I keep it in my fuge and other people do too.
