Reed Mariculture's Top Dressed Otohime

I was fortunate enough to talk with Randy Reed about this product at BAYMAC and go home with a sample (TDO-C2) which has a particle size of 920-1410 μm (micro meters).
The feeding response this pellet yields is impressive. My Solon wrasse (C. solorensis) took to it immediately. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the benefits of Astaxanthin.

Here is RM's desciption: "Otohime Marine Weaning Diets from Japan provide superior nutrition for juvenile and adult fish. They are specifically formulated for feeding to marine fish, as compared to formulas developed for freshwater fish that have added ingredients for marine fish. Otohime is the "next generation" of the Biokyowa product line, providing better nutrition, improved survival rates, and improved feeding response."

This stuff has a blood red color which I trust helps with the feeding response. Well done Reed Mariculture!

I highly recommend it.

I did, all of my fish love the stuff and the response was instant, they took to it right away. Even the tomini searches out the small particles and seems to really like it.

I got some and my one fish, a small tomato clown loves it. The really fine (powder almost) pellets are being scarfed by my 5 coral frags. I like how the fine floats in the water for a long time and lands on my corals. Other foods I've tried on the corals tends to bypass them if not handfed, and, ends up in the sump, but, I've watched these fine particals being captured and eaten by my corals (challis, S. wilsoni, acan, and goniopora). I know it is intended as a fish food, but, my corals love it. I look foreward to using this on my larger display once it is ready!

I noticed that my Acans and chalices seemed to appreciate it as well. Thanks for the response.

Noice. That is cool about the Tomini.. tangs eating pellet: def. a good thing

My new ORA sharknose goby wouldn't go for NLS small, but took to this pellet right away. It leaves the small pieces but munches the large.

One other thing I noticed is that my Solon will just keep eating this stuff. It takes it forever to max out and start mouthing it. Unlike lots of other pellet options, my fishes will eat this even following PE mysis feedings. To me, that speaks loud and clear.

I thought I'd add some pics of my tomato clown before and after I started feeding the TDO. I really noticed a differance on him. He went from orange to red within the aprox. 2 weeks I've been feeding this food. I'm impressed! These aren't very clear, but, the color is really close.

Wow. That is a noticeable change! Very cool to see some pictoral evidence already. Only two weeks! Thanks for sharing.
