Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

When you say that the Reefbrite has twice the PAR of an ATI bulb, is that a bulb with or without reflectors? What are the actual numbers? I know a lot of the baseline bulb tests are done without reflectors.

The all blue will provide some shimmer with a full T5 setup, but not a bunch. An all white, or white / blue combo would provide you with the shimmer that you're looking for.

I was getting 250 - 275 with an ATI Blue Plus and a reflector on it. The same distance with the Reef Brite was getting me 485 - 510. I thought it was only fair to use the Blue Plus comparison with a reflector, since that is how most run them anyways, and the RB module has somewhat of a reflector to keep the light going down into the tank.

This is what i am working with .

So what choices does one have for a LB mini wide pendant se 20k ? I like the clean look I have now . Do I mount 2 x mini blue to the pendant or use a 15 inch unit rigged up somehow ? . Tank is a 30 x 30 x 18 cube .

TIA

They have not arrived yet. I spoke with ReefBrite yesterday, and they should be in transit by today, so mid next week is what we're hoping for.

modribv - That's going to be tough. If your pendant was rectangular, it would be pretty easy to do, or if you had a 14.5" side to work with you could put the modules in.

Good to know. I can't wait to see this in action!!

Actually, up to about 20", you could replace a lower par 250w halide with these, however you would need 6 modules to do so, wich 2 or 3 of them being the all white. It would be very expensive to do!

Hey Jeremy B. I have a 65 gal cube 25-25-24 Sps dominated how many and which ones would i need to replace my 250w hqi 14k???

Doing a 4-6 module setup over that tank should be fine for you. You will get double the output from these modules than what you will with T5's with good reflectors behind them, and we keep sps under 6 lamp T5's all the time with no problems.

I was considering 2 36" modules for my 72" long tank, but it doesn't appear that the spacing of the led's will work for me. I'm concerned that the bracing on the tank will block them due to the spacing. Can you confirm what the measurements are for the spacing of the led's on each size module?

@keto, I would think four strips front to back is what I would go with for a soft coral system. This means you would need 8 total strips of the 36" modules, which would give you 4 on both sides front to back.

@dcook, 6 modules front to back if the aquascaping is towards the middle. If the aquascape is from front glass to back glass, then I would go with 7 modules. This will give you as good of coverage as what an all T5 setup would, but only with more punch down into the tank.

Has anyone come up with a mount for these for a tank where you have no canopy? I was looking at these maybe for some blue suplementation for my MH as well as a moonlight and wasn't quite sure now to mount it in a rimless tank with no hood.
