Reef Central Members Buy Huntington Beach Store

I've never been to this store and I don't know Kevin but I'm wishing you good luck! Keep it up man

I'm quite sure you'll do much better than the previous owners.

I stopped in there a couple of months ago and looked around the store; getting ready to purchase a few things. But when I asked if I could use the restroom first, she made up some REALLY lame excuse and motioned for me to run across the street instead.

I ran across the street alright!....right along with my hundred dollar bill that I was GOING to spend in her store.

BAAADDD Business!

"Take care of your customer" I cannot possibly emphasis how important this concept is!

Word of mouth is EVERYTHING in this industry...and it can very easily go either way!

Best of luck in your business venture. I'm sure you'll do great!

Ok, class is adjourned :hammer:

You have to think of it sometimes that restrooms are for employees only and not for customers. Most companies including private owned stores are like that as well. You don't want to let an immature person go in there and trash it or tag on the walls and stuff do you?

good luck kevin!!!

that frag tank i picked up from you is doing very well so far... also, i'll come pick up that yuma soon.. maybe i'll just meet you at your shop :)

Thanks Everyone

The previous owner was a good guy hes just burned out from being the only person running the place for the last three years. The women you met was his sister who only comes out to give him a hand.

bboygraphix

Just let me know so I can bring it out because all of my personal corals will stay at my house because of conflicts in interest.

Wow that is great, congratulations and good luck Kevin!

That place is so close to my work, I'll have to come by check it out.

Re: Reef Central Members Buy Huntington Beach Store

[

I just made my weekly visit to my favorite OC store Ocean Reef at the corner of Brookhurst and Adams in Huntington Beach(next to Stater Bros.). It was my favorite because the owner was honest and prices were reasonable. They didn't have anything fancy but I felt I needed to support an honest business in our hobby.

Low and behold I walk in there is a new owner Reef Central's own Raskal311(also known as Kevin).Kevin and two Reef Central friends have bought the store and plan on some big changes and upgrades.New tanks, better lighting, better selection and plan on having reasonable prices. A 240 and 160 reef tank, etc...

wow! i'll have to stop in once again. i found the location on the way to the beach after taking my kid to the dental specialist on talbert. (all the way from riverside. :celeb2:  )

GOOD LUCK!!!

Once we get going we will do something for the RC pees. I dont want to talk to much about the store since the mods isn't going to like it so I'll leave it at that.

Good luck kevin. Now I know why you need that prop system you built.

Thanks!!!

that was for personal use and I'll be taking it down when I have the time. From the time I know about the store was up for sale to the day we sign the papers was only about 10 days!!! it was super fast..... I alwasy wanted to do this but didn't have any real plan to buy/build one.

Hey Guys, I know I don't post much. I mostly lurk this forum and offer advice and ask questions when I can. But me and Raskall have been long time friends and he got me into this hobby a few years back. I guess he also brought me into business together. I'm keeping my day job as well.

Thanks for all the support. We know what its like to be hobbiest and will treat Reefcentral folks well.

Sounds great to me. Does the store have a website???
Specials on salt , fish , dry goods would be cool.
Let ALL of us know.
I'll buy.

I visited their new store yesterday, and I think their prices are GREAT! All the livestock looked great!

So I encourage all of you, go to see these guys....

When they get more livestock I'll be sure to be back. They are also close to me.

Thanks franky, and also thanks for all the advice.

I don't want to violate any forum rules so I’ll reframe from answering any questions about the store itself.

And if you're into Dickies clothes there's a Dickies store next door.
Kev, who is running the store while you guys work your day jobs. I'm gonna miss Michael, he was a cool guy and always gave me the best deals. Anyways, you working today? I need to stop by.

Yes all of his customers love him and always emphasize on his honesty and never pushing a sale on a customer. Steve will be at the store during the day. Since he’s a full time daddy he’s free while his kids are at school. If we have any problems covering the hours I have committed to quitting my current job if needed. But as of now I'll be there from 3pm - close.
