assuming you mean about the reef scene painting.. I am thinking of a three panel scene of a coral head with a school of anthias or chromis and some other more showy fish interspersed..I havent gotten much further then that

I am working with a printer on getting some notecards done up and then I am starting the reef scene painting

Once again, Nate...nice job!

Ah...so I'm guessing the reef scene is the project you alluded to that you've been "practicing" for?

thanks Greg

actually the painting these started out as practice for never came about. But I like where these have gone and am going to get moving on the scene shortly..I am hoping within the next two weeks.

Excellent artwork! Do you only paint in water color or do you ever use oil based paints? Or what about black and white shading pieces? You are a fantastic artist.

Sorry for the hiatus. I have been all over the northeast the last three weeks for work and have not had any time to paint. Finished this today. Next up reef scene..

Grassroots.. I do all kinds of art ..photo, printmaking, acrylic, etc.. watercolor is just something I started back in the early spring ..seems appropriate for fish though

you have AMAZING work! i've always attempted at drawing (i suck a** at painting or colored pencils) reef fish and failed, your work inspires me! i would love to see one of a Helfrichi Firefish! *teehee

Literally just finished this the paper is still wet. I learned some things from it and have to sit down and figure out the next one.

Its 22" x 30" 99% watercolor.. I did cheat and used a little bit of acrylic to touch up a few areas where the colors bled .
The paper I used had a bit more tooth than what I have been using previously and I did not feel like i could get the fine detail as easily.
Anyway enjoy...
