Anything at HomeDepot that we can use?
Only thing I was planning on is Emaco but need to order online
And only comes in a 50lb bag. Would like to tackle this project this weekend if I can find something else that might work just as good.

Aquaforest has the same type of bonding cement as emarco. Ive heard that hydraulic cement from HD works too

pure portland cement works great, needs to soak in fresh water for a day after it cures IME or ph will spike.

Quickrite from HD, i have some left if you need some for free, you just have to pick it up in 90280 Southgate

I used this on a freshwater tank and it fell apart and started dissolving after a couple of months...

I might have to try it again. It makes sense that it should work.

I was looking at the same thing but the search thru the threads on this forum scared me away. Quite a few people saying it worked great for up to a year or more and then it started to crumble. I didn't want to take that risk, especially if you have an overhang or something that'll fall over.

I'm gonna go with a combo of acrylic rods, epoxy and thermo plastics. Between all of that I should be good. Fingers crossed.

It does crumble. Don’t use it. You’re fine using spec mix or even tile grout mix if you want the lighter color looking cement. I’ve used both with no issues.

I used the exact same cement and no issues thus far. My tank has been up and running for 8mos now

I have a fairly large shelf I’m looking to mount. I definitely don’t want it falling some 12 months later. What would I be able to use that might stand the test of Time? There will be some good pressure on that joint so need something strong.

Well... then... I think you might want to look into drilling a few holes and using acrylic rods then use emarco to join it all together. BRS has a good vid on the different options including acrylic rods.

I used spec mix in my pond and that stuff will never crumble! The tile grout mix is very interesting! Makes total sense too.. I might have to try this for frag disk ;)

I used jb weld, water weld (two part putty). Super strong.
It's been three years and no problems
