"Reef Safe with Caution"

Can you elaborate on your experience with the Clown Trigger.

One of my favorite fish...how big when you added/how old/what he has devoured/etc?

I'm thinking about a blue spotted puffer, but I love my cleaners and am a little nervous about having them become fish food.

TRITON1-

The Clown Trigger was added at the begining of the year, and was about 2". So far, it has been a model citizen. However, I am anticipating that there will be a time where he may have to come out. In my experience, it is very difficult to change the nature of a fish. Although there is a spectrum of behavior, a Clown Trigger is a Clown trigger. If it proves to be a model citizen, with little impact on the other residents of the tank, for the long haul, it would be the equivalent of winning the lottery!

Greg (the owner of the tank) feeds the tank very heavily with Selcon soaked PE mysis three times a night, as well as adding pellets a couple of times of night. My experience with fish in general has me convinced that alot of aggression and picking comes from hunger and competition over limted resources/habitat. That's assuming that the community of fish/corals are compatible to begin with.

Thats likely to happen, and always the risk you take. As the Blue Spot Puffer grows, it becomes more likely. If it is not fed frequently, and heavily, it most assuredly is unavoidable.
