is there going to be any way to regulate how much water is diverted to the fuge before it reaches the sump, i.e. a valve er something, or is the fuge just going to accept whatever amount of flow goes into it, un-regulated?

there is going to be check valve above the t i will post some more pics when i finish the plumbing. ? for everybody i am going to the fish store tomorrow and i want to by some rock possibly and i have no room in my 37 so where could i put it if there is not water in the 90

Looking at these pictures, I see a couple of areas of concern.

In the first picture, I would install a ballvalve under the Tee. By closing the valve, some of the water can divert (via the Tee) to the refugium. The way it is now, water will flow straight down, and has no reason to turn off into the refugium.

In picture #2, what size is that PVC? It is going straight up into an elbow, then horizontally into another elbow, then up. I would recommend using SpaFlex tubing instead to eliminate both elbows, or at the very least modify it with two 45s instead to soften the corners and maintain flow.

In picture #3, it looks good. I use those on all my pumps. What size is it?

The rock water isnt even made yet i dont have anything so what should i do i will take the trashcan idra though if i can actually put the rock in water that is only setup for a couple hours.

My return pump has some kind of sticky sticker kind of thing and i havent put it on yet because we are still moving the pump a little

There will be ballvalves installed. In picture two the size pipe is 3/4 yes i no it is really small. In picture 3 it is a 3/4 union

Your return plumbing is too small. Since you've not glued it, take it apart and return the unneeded fittings. You need to change it to 1" or even 1.5" plumbing going back up.

This is the order:

Pump --> 1.5" to 3/4" bushing --> 1.5" union --> 1.5" plumbing up to the tank, avoiding sharp corners --> union or bushing to reduce back down to the tank's bulkhead.

No, it isn't too late, it just will cost you more to replace it.

It isn't about flow in the tank, as much as allowing the pump to work properly without overheating in the sump. However, for now feel free to observe how it works for you. When you have some extra cash, swap it out to the larger size as recommended and I think you'll be happily surprised.

yea thats what i will probably do if it doesnt work out but i think ill be fine and the water gets real cold down there so it will heat it up a little and the pump can pump the water up 15 ft and its only like 12 ft

Nice start you have going there.

I'd like to throw in my 2 cents but please don't take it the wrong way I'm not trying to be rude.

These guys are giving you some valuable info and advice but you don't seem to keen to accept any of it, your plumbing is flawed and these guys are trying to help you along.
Last month I helped a local pet store setup their plubming and they were doing the same thing you are except only 7 1/2 feet of head and using the same pump. After I expressed my concern for the plan several times and they insited I went ahead and did what they ask, only to do it over when it didn't work. You could barley feel much flow threw the return.

That pump will be working overtime and you will be lucky to even get 500gph return.
Please listen to these guy most have more experience then you could shake a stick at. And Melev certainly has the experience and even quite a few tanks going.
