ReefTek and ASD calcium reactors?

FYI, that is an old picture of the Reeftek. The new ones are all hard pipe. The green hose at the very top is the vent for use when filling the reactor.

I think so...how's that for an answer. I haven't set it up yet, but I remember the instructions mentioning a valve.

Not sure what valve you are referring to, but here are a couple of items from ReefTeks website:

Precision needle valve for effluent control gives you excellent control over the reactor's output.

Built-in bubble counter. Automatically fills at startup so you don't have worry about filling it. High quality check valve with a Polypropylene housing with VitonÃ"šÃ‚® diaphragm assures long lasting reliable service.

Yes that's an old pic but the new pic didn't give a clear view of the connection I was talking about. If it is a vent there doesn't seem to be a need for two or more feet of tubing on it. Here is the pic of what Reeftek is building now. Looks like a black vent valve to the right of the plumbing coming out of the top unless it's a PH port.

The red tubing with the black valve at the end is indeed the vent valve. When you are filling up the reactor you want to see water coming out of that line to know all air is out, so the tubing allows you to direct the water into the sump or a container and not have water all over the reactor.

Thanks. Which media do you suggest for the Reeftek?
