ReefWaters' 220 Sun Room Reef

Here's the de-humidifier I have been having to use. It runs almost 24 hours and pulls about 2 gallons out of the air each day. I had to plumb it to drain directly into the floor drain because I was dumping the reservoir so often. If I left it shut off too long, the humidity in the room would shoot to 90% in no time and I would have condensation everywhere.

Nothing is finished by any means. The rock work is not finished, although it is close to what I want. The frag rack will definitely be removed. The plugs and switches and wires laying all over the place will eventually be tied up and organized neatly as soon as I am confident things are where they are staying. I'll probably add another Vortech or two. I still have to build and add the fuge and prop tank.... etc, etc. etc.......

Enjoy! :D

Nice! Pictures at last.

I love your light rack.

The fishroom is really clean. I'm surprised you don't evaporate even more than 2g a day.

looking good....only question is why do you not use the safety zip ties for the vortech...i just got one and love it btw.....best 400 i have ever spent lol

you need a better desk mate...I have stainless tables in my tank room and I think it was a mistake. They look cool but the metal just can't stand up to the environment. If you got 316 they may be better.

And what is the box below and to the right of the DC4?

Thanks Marc. I'm guessing its 2 gallons. Could easily be double that.

PaulieWalnuts - I have never had one of my Vortechs fall off the tank....knock on wood....but I may add the zip ties, even if I put them below the pumps. I just don't like having the wire hanging from above the pump. And YES, they are amazing. I cant wait to really start playing with the the different wave making programs in this tank.

Jonathan, the "desk" is just a restaurant check tender shelf. I had two of them sitting in my garage and thought it would work great in the space. Its about all I have room for. I like it so far, but I wont be surprised if it starts corroding soon. And the box below the DC4 is my Linksys gaming adapter which is not working at the moment.

Thanks for all the complements guys. It really makes it all worth while.

yeah i change it from reef crest to lagoon at night...but have only had it in my 75 for a few days....it replaced like 4 maxi jets...its going in my 110 where i can turn the flow up some more lol....love you tank wish i had the funds and the room for a tank like that....some day i hope!!!

Definitely secure the pump with zip ties. I know everyone hangs them upside down, but if EcoTech says wire up, that's good enough for me.

hmmmm...different style gaming adapter than mine. It worked right out of the box. I now have a wireless bridge in its place. Curt can help you straighten it out.

PaulieWalnuts - I was actually running both of these on my 50 cube. I knew I wanted them for this tank, so I went ahead and bought them. Of course, they were on the lowest setting possible on the cube so not much fun with the mode settings. Don't stress too bad about upgrading. I don't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing but I looked at my Quicken the other day to see how much I have spent over the past 5 years and I almost had a heart attack. Needless to say, a little regret has set in and I am constantly trying to convince myself that this was a good idea! I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end when things are stable and semi-complete.

Kingsland - Thank you very much!

FUA - thanks. I'm actually considering adding two slide rails perpendicular to the first two so I can move the rack away from the mini split. My access to that part of the tank is VERY limited right now.

Jonathan - That's the new wireless N adapter. Supposed to work on G as well. I had to spend a few hours on the phone with India to get it to connect. It worked great for a day or two and then nothing. I'm not sure if a setting got mixed up or what. I have a post on the Neptune forum but no one has responded in 2 days. :(

Bax - Thank you very much!

Did you restart your PC? I lost mine just the other day too and it turned out that when I did a restart, somehow the router went back to the default of 1 - 50 users. I believe the Neptune controller comes in with a default higher than that. Mine is set to 192.168.1.103 and that's where the problem was.

You could change the default address on the controller too. As far as using the Neptune forum goes, you can get a lot of help there, but for networking issues I would get on the phone with Curt.

I have a wireless router in my den (next to the fish room) connected to a cable modem. The only computer in my house is my laptop, which goes to work with me every day. So I also believe it is simply a networking issue, and I just have to wrap my head around the settings better. It just literally looks like Japanese to me. I should have run a hard wire from the fish room to the router. In fact, if this keeps giving me trouble, that's probably what I'll do. Its just a PITA.

It seems to me that you are way behind schedule when it comes to posting pictures in your thread. 90+ days and counting.

We refuse to read another word until you pony up some eye candy.

Now now Marc go easy on him...at least he is actually getting to set up the tank...not just look at it for years and then sell it dry hahaha.

Looking good there RW....glad my old deltec skimmer got to see some water....and not just from the rag to dust it! I have no idea why it over foams with both recirc pumps on tho...thats odd.

Nolacls - you too owe us some pictures. Let's go find that dead thread and bother you too. By now, you should have a pretty little reef going. ;)
